Danish victory in Berlin

Last weekend the traditional Bären Pokal had been held in Berlin. Twenty-one players from three countries enjoyed a great weekend of table-football in a really friendly atmosphere. Played to the old rules, each game 40 minutes, 25mm balls and completely without referees the tournament again showed the beauty of that style to the participants.

At the end Jesper Staal Nielsen defended his title against surprise finalist René Schulz from Berlin. The final saw a great comeback from the Danish player since he had been already 1-4 down before he could finally win with 7-6 after extra-time.

The final of the youth competition was a close fight between Kristian Staal Nielsen and Björn Kegenbein. At the end the Odense player took the title with a well deserved 2-1 victory. Players who are interested in taking part in next years edition shall note the weekend of May 30th/31st.
