Haas forfeits to Federer at Indian Wells

Tommy Haas forfeited his quarter-final against Roger Federer on Friday at the Pacific Life Open because of a sinus infection.
The announcement was made about 2 1/2 hours before the late-afternoon match was to start.
Federer, ranked No. 1, is aiming for his fourth title in five years at Indian Wells. On Saturday, he will face northamerican Mardy Fish in the semifinals game. The other men's semifinal pits defending champion Rafael Nadal against Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic.
