Double defeat in Amsterdam for the Greek side

The greek side were absolutely unlucky in the GP Amsterdam´s weekend after losing the two main finals of this event, the team competition (defeat against Mattersburg) and the open competition (Koutis lost against Bari). Tough competition played in the open category where some amazing surprises happened in the knock-out rounds like the arrival of Laurent Coucke (BEL) to quarter finals. The semifinals round met four players from different countries: G Koutis from Greece, Robert Lenz from Austria, Gil Delogne from Belgium and Saverio Bari from Italy. The greek player and the italian one walked over to the final with close victories over Lenz and Delogne each one. In a very competitive final, the italian Saverio Bari secured the title with a comfortable score of 2-0 over Giorgos Koutis, collecting a new trophy for his hall of fame and finding the happiness after a sad defeat in the last weekend in Milton Keynes.

1/2 final
KOUTIS, Giorgos (GRE) - LENZ, Robert (AUT) 3 - 2
BARI, Saverio (ITA) - DELOGNE, Gil (BEL) 2 - 1

Final
KOUTIS, Giorgos (GRE) - BARI, Saverio (ITA) 0 - 2
